dc.descriptionResumen. Este artículo forma parte de una investigación mayor (Proyecto AECID A/024180/09) y se enmarca en un autodiagnóstico de situación y necesidades de asesoramiento del sistema escolar de Chile. El objetivo de este estudio consiste en describir la situación y las necesidades de asesoramiento de escuelas de la Quinta Región de Valparaíso. Con este objetivo, se propone un estudio de tipo analítico-descriptivo con diseño mixto y con fases de naturaleza cuantitativa y cualitativa en la que han participado 409 docentes y 61 directores. Los resultados permitieron observar que las valoraciones más positivas no se perciben desde la innovación ni en las necesidades de apoyo o asistencia técnica. Las escuelas presentan dificultades para identificar los elementos nucleares de la autonomía institucional, dada la ambigüedad con la que se valora tanto el autodiagnóstico actual como las necesidades de asesoramiento en las dimensiones Escuela y comunidad, Vida escolar y Gestión institucional”. Estos son aspectos relevantes en el sentido de ofrecer asesoramientos educativos efectivos, contextualizados y respetuosos de la Cultura escolar para un desarrollo institucional de las escuelas. Abstract. This article is part of a larger investigation (Project AECID A/024180/09) and of an assessment needs framework of the school system in our country. The aim of this study is to describe the evaluation needs of the schools of the Fifth Region of Valparaiso, Chile. With this purpose in mind, we propose an analytic-descriptive study with mixed design, with quantitative and qualitative phases, in which more than 409 teachers and 61 principals participated. The results show that the most positive valuations are not perceived from the innovation, either in the needs of support or technical assistance. The schools present difficulties to identify the nuclear elements of the institutional autonomy, given the ambiguity with which there are valued both the current self-diagnosis and the needs of advice for the dimensions School and Community, Life at School and Institutional Management. The obtained results are relevant for the national educational sphere, in the sense of offering effective educational advice, and are contextualized in the School Culture in which these proposals can be considered.es-ES
